2018 CC Promise Grant Application UX Committee

Description

A dedicated group of CCC college administrators and staff experienced in financial aid, counseling, and academic advising for the California Community Colleges.

Purpose

The purpose of this committee is to provide expertise in financial aid applications and eligibility, and support to the CCCApply product manager and development team in the design, development, and implementation of the online CC Promise Grant Application, including review and approval of required data fields, onscreen language, and legal mandates.

2018 Objectives

Support the CCCApply Product Manager and development team with ongoing change requests with the goal of reducing, reusing, and streamlining the CC Promise Grant application
- Work with a CCCCO Specialist for Financial Aid (Bryan Dickason) to identify ways to enhance the CCPG logic (similar to the Homeless Youth special eligibility logic)
- Ensure all stakeholders understand the Dependency Status determination is calculated in the Standard Application, then displayed or not in the CCPG Application (recommend updating the Data Specification document to better illustrate this dependency)
- Identify other ways to pre-populate data in the CCPG (Pre-determined CA residency, AB540, non-resident, homeless, foster youth, TANF, and more).
Support the CCCApply product manager by serving as the subject matter experts (SME) on financial aid requirements as they pertain to the CC Promise Grant in general per state, federal and local laws and regulations;
- Provide support to colleges when questions and issues are posted in the CCC College Support Site regarding the CC Promise Grant Application
Support the CCCApply product manager in the development of CC Promise Grant Application end-user and college-user instructional materials and user guides
Attend and support the 2018 CCCApply Workshop session for the Promise Grant Application
Provide support and outreach to colleges considering adoption of the Promise Grant Application
