Release Summary

New Account Recovery Option using the CA DMV Wallet

With this release, students who have forgotten their password and lost access to their email or the mobile device used to create their OpenCCC student account can immediately recover their account by validating their ID using the CA DMV Wallet. This self-service account recovery option eliminates the need for students with a valid CA driver's license or ID card to call or email student support staff in order to prove their identity and recover their account, giving them faster access to CCCApply.

How does it work?

The new DMV Wallet option for identity verification is presented to students as an account recovery option when they click the “Forgot Your Password?” link from the OpenCCC student account system sign-in page.

Students are then guided to choose the verification option that works best for them.
