Field Tooltip Management | Tooltip Narrative Validation & Character Limits Character Limit & Counter: Added a configurable maximum character limit with a real-time character counter to keep field guidance concise, readable, and consistent across forms. Save Validation: Prevents saving narratives that exceed the allowed limit. Required Field Validation: Ensures a narrative is provided whenever a tooltip is set to Enabled.
Field Tooltip Change History & Audit Log CCCCO administrators can now view a complete, immutable history log for each tooltip directly within the detail view. The log records the actor, timestamp, action type (create, edit, enable, disable, retire, restore), and before/after values for narrative, settings, and status changes. Configurable Tooltip Display Duration CCCCO Admins can now configure the auto-dismiss duration for field tooltips across Course and Program interfaces, including setting tooltips to never dismiss. The configuration includes range validation and a system default duration. Automatic Field Tooltips Sync Auto-Populate Fields: Newly configured Course and Program fields automatically appear in Content Editor → Field Tooltips with a status of Active / Not Configured. Preserve Inactive Fields: Removing a field from a form sets its status to Inactive while preserving its existing tooltip configuration and history. No Manual Maintenance: Eliminates the need for admins to manually add or remove fields from the tooltip management table.

CIP Codes | CIP Code Reference Data Enhancements Expanded CIP Attributes: Added support for new CIP reference fields to enable accurate TOP-to-CIP alignment across courses and programs: 4-Digit CIP Subdiscipline & Name: Maps 6-digit CIP codes to their overarching 4-digit family/subdiscipline (e.g., 01.01 – Agricultural Business and Management). CIP Classification: Categorizes CIP codes by instructional purpose (CTE, Not CTE, Both, Noncredit CIP). CIP Definition: Stores the official narrative definition for each 6-digit CIP code.
Bulk Import Readiness: Established the underlying data structure and schema required to support bulk reference data updates from approved state files while preserving existing CIP codes, names, 2-digit series, and status data.
Expanded CIP Reference Attributes System administrators can now view and edit the expanded CIP reference attributes directly on the Manage / Edit CIP Code page, providing complete reference data management for individual 6-digit CIP codes. New Reference Fields on Manage/Edit Screen: 4-Digit CIP Subdiscipline: Displays the 4-digit subdiscipline code (e.g., 01.01). 4-Digit CIP Subdiscipline Name: Displays the corresponding subdiscipline title (e.g., Agricultural Business and Management). CIP Classification: Selectable dropdown supporting standard classification values: CTE Not CTE Both Noncredit CIP
CIP Definition: Displays the full definition text associated with the 6-digit CIP code.
Administrative Access & Permissions: Editing of new attributes is seamlessly integrated into existing Manage CIP role permissions. Data Persistence & Accessibility: All newly added attributes save and persist across reloads following standard COCI validation, layout, and screen-reader accessibility patterns. Unchanged Functionality: Existing fields (CIP Code, CIP Name, 2-Digit Series, Status, and TOP Code Alignment) remain fully intact and operational.
Note: This update supports individual CIP record maintenance. Bulk reference data population and TOP-to-CIP crosswalk alignment workflows are managed in separate tasks. CIP Landing Page & Results Table Enhancements Updated the CIP landing page and results table to display key reference attributes directly in the main view, enabling system administrators to more efficiently search, filter, and review CIP codes at a glance. New: Expanded Results Table Columns: Added two new reference columns to the CIP results table: 4-Digit CIP Subdiscipline (e.g., 01.01) CIP Classification (e.g., CTE, Not CTE, Both, Noncredit CIP)
Optimized Layout: To keep the table clean and scannable, detailed definitions and subdiscipline names remain accessible on the Manage/Edit page rather than cluttering the results grid.
Unchanged & Retained Functionality: Existing Columns: The table continues to display CIP Code, CIP Name, 2-Digit Series, TOP Code Alignments, Status, and Action. Navigation & Workflows: Selecting the action menu item continues to open the Manage/Edit CIP Code page. Search, Sort & Accessibility: All existing search, sort, status filtering, and accessibility behaviors remain intact.
Program CIP Selection (TOP-to-CIP Alignment) Crosswalk-Driven Selection: Program forms now dynamically display active 6-digit CIP codes (Code and Name) mapped to the selected program TOP code based on the updated TOP-to-CIP crosswalk. Dynamic Updating: Available CIP choices update automatically whenever the program TOP code is changed. Existing Records Retained: Existing program CIP assignments remain intact; unmapped or legacy CIPs are not invalidated until the TOP or CIP is actively edited. Streamlined CIP-Only Updates: When only the CIP code is updated on an existing program (and Auto Approval is off), submitters can save and submit without triggering a full program re-review. All changes continue to be tracked in the program audit history.
Course CIP Selection Curated 2-Step CIP Selection: Added a 4-Digit CIP Subdiscipline field to the course form to streamline CIP selection. Selecting a subdiscipline filters the 6-Digit CIP Code options to valid, active codes aligned with the course's selected TOP code via the standard TOP-to-CIP crosswalk. Dynamic Recalculation: Changing the TOP code recalculates available 4-digit subdisciplines and 6-digit CIP options. Changing the subdiscipline prompts reselection if the previously selected 6-digit CIP is no longer valid. Backward Compatibility: Existing courses retain their saved 6-digit CIP code, and the corresponding 4-digit subdiscipline is automatically derived and displayed without requiring manual updates. Persistence & Standards: CIP selections persist across save/reload and adhere to existing COCI validation, permissions, and accessibility standards.
Noncredit Primary and Related Occupational CIP Added support for capturing a secondary occupational CIP code on applicable noncredit course and program submissions to meet specialized noncredit coding needs (such as vocational ESL). Related Occupational CIP Field: Added an optional 6-digit CIP field (Code — Name) to noncredit course and program forms. Independent CIP Storage: The existing CIP Code field remains the primary reporting value; the Related Occupational CIP is stored separately and will not overwrite the primary CIP. Display & Persistence: Both CIP fields display the full CIP code and name, and selections persist after save and reload. Scope & Standards: Credit course and program forms remain unchanged. Existing validation, permissions, and accessibility standards continue to apply.
