Impersonate a User in COCI
How to Impersonate a User in COCI
Because COCI uses complex validation rules, users may contact the Chancellor’s Office or the Tech Center for support when they need help resolving errors. The COCI Impersonate User function lets an authorized administrator interact with the system as another user. This helps you see the issue from the user’s perspective, identify what may be causing the problem, and provide guidance on how to fix it.
Note: You must be logged in under the CCCCO Admin user role to impersonate a user.
Identify the name, user role, and college of the user needing assistance.
From the left navigation panel go to Configure Accounts > Users — you are taken to the Manage User page.
In the Manage User page, search for the user. You can search by name, user role, and/or college.
In the search results table, find the row for the user. In the Action column of that row, select Impersonate.
The Start Impersonating a User page is displayed. You can add a Reason for switching to this user.
Select Start Impersonating.
The system will show that you are actively impersonating the user.
When you are finished, select Stop Impersonating from the user drop-down menu.
Your user impersonation session will be recorded in the Impersonation Log. To view this log go to Site Administration > Impersonate Log from the left navigation panel.
