Manage TOP Codes in COCI

TOP codes define the general field of study associated with an academic program. They can be edited, or a new top code can be created by an CCCCO Admin on the Manage TOP Codes page which is accessed by going to Site Administration > TOP Codes from the left navigation panel.

Note: College Submitters may view TOP codes for reference, but they are not allowed to edit or create them.

Note: If you are creating a new TOP code, the numbering and name for the TOP code must align with the Program and Course Approval Handbook published by the Chancellor’s Office.

Edit a TOP Code

  1. From the left navigation panel go to Site Administration > TOP Codes — you are taken to the Manage TOP Codes page.

  2. Search for a TOP code by Program Code, Sub Program Code, Reproduction Code, or by typing in the Search field. Then click Filter Results.
