1
  • Update on Canvas Data 2 in DW

  • Continue to work with 6 sites for the multi-college districts. Close to sharing an announcement to the field post validation of multi-college districts' data segmentation.

  • Some faculty that may have worked with Canvas for some time are Christy Karau, and Vernon Martin (Business and Philosophy faculty), Erik may invite them in for conversation.

2
  • Follow up discussion: Policy suggestions for accessing student records across colleges.

  • Erik: Trying to share administrative records so one college could see courses taken at other colleges (not transcript detail), to allow colleges to see this data real time or near real time. Ensuring FERPA, ability to opt out, who would have access are three considerations. In terms of policy, the components to consider would include:

    • Discussion re: Launchboard, Cal-Pass, issues beyond FERPA. Under Ferpa, allowed to share transcript data, may need to allow student to opt-out at a course by course basis.

    • Consideration of dual enrollment (partial or fully matriculated)

    • CDE (SSID) is being shared with MIS submissions

3
  • Follow up discussion: Consider modifications to data sharing agreements that could enable inclusion of high-priority datasets in the future (i.e. EDD wage files).

  • To discuss next meeting

4
  • Is this group affected by May revise?

  • This is ongoing, not part of May revise.
