Release Overview

CCCApply 6.12.0 includes the 2023-2024 California College Promise Grant Online Application. There are no new questions added to the 2023-2024 version of the CCPG; only required database updates and revisions to the new income table. The release also includes a new field, military_veteran_consent, in the CCCApply Standard application that allows students who are veterans or close family of veterans to share their contact information with CalVet.

New military_veteran_consent field

The new military_veteran_consent field in the CCCApply Standard application displays in the Citizenship/Military section of the application. It displays when the student selects any response to the existing veteran question other than "None apply to me.”

The checkbox asks, “Would you like to be contacted about state and federal benefits to Veterans and their family members?”

When checked, the following text displays: “I consent to this agency transmitting my name, email address, mailing address, and mobile telephone number to the Department of Veterans Affairs only for the purpose of receiving additional information on veterans benefits for which I may be eligible. I understand that this consent is valid for 12 months.”

Note: The California Community Colleges Technology Center (CCCTC) is responsible for sending student contact information to CalVet. Colleges are not expected to provide this information.

CCPG Annual Database Updates

Each year the CC Promise Grant online application requires backend database updates and any other required changes specified by the CCC Chancellor’s Office before being deployed to users. These changes include incremental year/date updates, a new year_code, and an update to the method B income table and tax year. Changes align to the source documents, attached in the Reference Documentation below.
