FAQ: CCCApply Noncredit Application

Frequently Asked Questions

General Information

Who should use the Noncredit Application?

Students who are enrolling exclusively in noncredit courses should use the Noncredit Application workflow. If a student is enrolling in any for-credit courses, then they should be directed to use the CCCApply Standard Application. If a student submits a Noncredit Application to a college for a specific term and then ends up enrolling in one or more credit courses for that same term, they may submit a CCCApply Standard Application for the same term. The responses provided on the applicant’s submitted Noncredit application will auto-fill the Standard Application and, once submitted, they will then be processed for a residency status.

What are the differences between the Standard and the Noncredit applications?

Is the online application available in multiple languages?

Currently, applications submitted through CCCApply are available in English and Spanish. Applicants can toggle between these translations by clicking on the “Cambiar A Espanol” button, which appears on every page of the application.

Is a paper application available if needed?

Some colleges offer a downloadable PDF application that students can print and mail in. If you college does not offer that, and your student is having trouble using the online version, please contact the Student Help Desk:

What are the financial aid options for students?

See I Can Afford College to see financial aid options.

Can a student apply to more than one college at a time?

Students should create their OpenCCC account and apply to one college (a.k.a. the “Home College”). When the student creates their academic plan, that is when they will have the option of taking classes at more than one college.

Can my college add custom questions to the college application?

Yes, see Working with Supplemental Questions User Guide for more information.
