    Residency page
    • Revise the Residency page layout:
      • Move the Special Residency section below the Out-of-State Activities section (swap positions)
      • Move the Out-of-State Activities section up directly under the California Residence questions;
    • Add skip logic to the Out-of-State Activities questions to Show/Hide specific Special Residency questions as needed

    Currently the Special Residency section includes five required Yes/No questions for all users and appears in the middle of the Residency page between the California Residence section and the Out-of-State Activities section. In this position in is not possible to implement skip logic to Show/Hide only those questions required for residency determination.

    The new order of sections on the Residency page layout:

    1. California Residence section (no changes to questions)
    2. Out-of-State Activities section (with added skip logic to only Show specific Special Residency questions as required based on the user's previous responses;
    3. Special Residency section - with specific questions hidden by default.

    This data field now allows Null value and default is set to False

    This is a layout change and there are no changes required by the college

    Residency page
    • Hide the Public School Employee question in the Special Residency section for all users by default;
    • add skip logic to only display if user has out-of-state activity within last 2 years
    • Change display condition and field validation to "only require a response if displayed"
    Currently the Pubic School Employee question displays as a required Yes/No question in the Special Residency section on the Residency page for all users

    The Pubic School Employee question is now hidden by default, and only requires a response if displayed

    Display logic: Display and require response if user responds "Yes" to one or more of the Out-of-State Activities questions and the activity happened within 2 years of RDD.

    This data field now allows Null value and default is set to False

    College needs to be aware that this field will now allow a null or blank value

    ca_school_employee

    Note:  In 2018, only 1% of all applicants responded Yes to this question.

    Residency
    • Hide the State College Employee question in the Special Residency section for all users by default;
    • add skip logic to only display if user has out-of-state activity within last 2 years
    • Change display condition and field validation to "only require a response if displayed"
    Currently the State College Employee question displays as a required Yes/No question in the Special Residency section on the Residency page for all users

    The State College Employee question is now hidden by default, and only requires a response if displayed

    Display logic: Display and require response if user responds "Yes" to one or more of the Out-of-State Activities questions and the activity happened within 2 years of RDD.

    This data field now allows Null value and default is set to False

    College needs to be aware that this field will now allow a null or blank value

    ca_college_employee

    Note:  In 2018, only 1% of all applicants responded Yes to this question.

    Residency
    • Hide the Seasonal Agricultural Worker question in the Special Residency section for all users by default;
    • add skip logic to only display if user has out-of-state activity within last 2 years
    • Change display condition and field validation to "only require a response if displayed"
    Currently the Seasonal Agricultural Worker question displays as a required Yes/No question in the Special Residency section on the Residency page for all users

    The Seasonal Agricultural Worker question is now hidden by default, and only requires a response if displayed

    Display logic: Display and require response if user responds "Yes" to one or more of the Out-of-State Activities questions and the activity happened within 2 years of RDD.

    This data field now allows Null value and default is set to False

    College needs to be aware that this field will now allow a null or blank value

    ca_seasonal_ag

    Note:  In 2018, only 1% of all applicants responded Yes to this question.

    Residency
    • Change the format of the Out-of-State Activities questions from required Yes/No radio buttons to optional checkboxes;
    • Combine the four Out-of-State Activities checkbox questions to one question (text) with the option to select one or more of the Out-of-State activities;
    • The existing format and logic for the "Out-of-State Activity Year" fields do not change with the new format.
    Currently, four, required, Yes/No Out-of-State Activities questions appear to all users. Each question has it's own question text and conditional logic to display a corresponding Year field upon a Yes response.

    The new format for the Out-of-State Activities questions includes:

    • Revise the format of each question from a Yes/No radio button format, requiring a response to an optional, checkbox format and revise the question text;
    • Combine all four checkbox questions under one main question, asking the user to "Select all that apply."
    • User is allowed to skip the question(s) if none apply.
    • If user responds Yes to one or more checkbox question, the corresponding "Year" field will appear with existing language and logic.

    The four Out-of-State Activities questions/fields are now optional (responses are no longer required by default) and the data fields will now accept Null or blank.

    There is no change to the text, conditions, logic or data field format for the four, corresponding Out-of-State Activity Year fields section/questions.

    Residency
    • Add skip logic to "OOS" question(s) to show hidden special residency questions if Yes response
