Problem / Issue

Recent change pending for the Standard Application - to add skip logic and Show/Hide the colleges attended sections on the Education page depending on the applicant's Enrollment status - should be altered for the International Application.  The "Enrollment Status" field in the IA app has different response options and they do not work/apply tot he change request /enhancement to hide the College Education Level and the Colleges Attended section for Standard, domestic students.  The response options/ values in the Enrollment status field need to be reviewed and possible a new value needs to be added so that an international application with previous Non-US college experience can be identified in the Enrollment status and colleges can collect that previously attended college data.

This was identified by Olivia ? from Pasadena City College during an International Application demo that Patty hosted for the college.  During the course of the demo, Patty explained some upcoming changes being implemented for the Standard Application and we all realized that the change would definitely NOT work in the International application using the current, existing response options.

Research what the best solution for this would be - by working with Olivia and other International App users or potential users to work on a proposed solution that could be approved.

SIDE NOTE:  At the same time that Patty was reporting this news to the Apply development team - to prevent them from making this change in the upcoming 6.4.0 release, the Apply dev team discovered the issue during testing!  This is excellent and very reassuring. Furthermore, on the same day, coincidentally, Mitch Leahy from Santa Rosa College brought the same issue to our attention via email.

Proposed Solution

  1. Halt planned development change work to the International Application (see OPENAPPLY-6124) for the upcoming release (6.4.0) and move the story to the BL for additional grooming.
  2. Schedule review of the issue with Olivia at Pasadena CC, and include Mitch Leahy, Santa Rosa, and include Olivia Alvarado at LACCD and see how urgent this issue is over other pending priorities.
  3. If approved and prioritized for Q4 2018/19 or Q1 2019/20 and groom with approved solution.

Suggestion/discussion:  Update the current existing response options in the College enrollment field in the International Application to include an option for "Attended college outside of the US" or something similar.
