Data Warehouse Report Server - Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome! The FAQs below pertain to Data Warehouse Report Server for CCC Data v.2.2.0, released to production on January 27, 2023.
Most Frequently Asked Questions
How do I contact Support Services for college staff?
The best way for CCC staff and faculty to contact the Support Services team at the CCC Technology Center is to visit CCCTechnology.info, the online support community for faculty and staff, and post a comment, ask a question, submit a change request, or make a request for technical assistance. Support engineers are monitoring every incoming post between Monday and Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm PST. Reporting an outage or incident with a staff-facing or student-facing online application, you can send an email directly to Support Services at staffsupportccctc@openccc.zendesk.com.
Why are my user DW Report Server account (login credentials) no longer working? Did something change?
With the release of CCC Data v2.2.0, the DW Report Server is now secured through single sign-on (SSO). To do this we needed to retire account access to the DW Report Server (and LGBTQ Report), migrate all existing accounts over and enable all new user accounts be created in our new secure system - which means your old password will no longer work.
If you are an authorized college or district user, you will go to a school/district login page and use the password provisioned to you for your other college/district systems. If you are a non-SSO user, you can use the “Forgot Password?” link to reset your password or contact ES Support Services to reset the password for you.
I’m getting an error page when I try to log in to the Data Warehouse Report Server. Did the URL change?
In September 2022, the CCCTC implemented a new secure system to authenticate Data Warehouse Report Server users. Pre-existing users have been migrated to the new secure system, but will need to work with the CCCTC Enabling Services team to re-validate their accounts. CCC college and district users will now log in via a custom URL and their institution’s IDP for single sign-on login. All other users, including Chancellor’s Office and CVC-OEI users, will continue to use the DWRS URL but must re-validate their existing account credentials.
How do I request access to the Data Warehouse Report Server?
IRPE Researchers: The identified lead IRPE Researcher at each college or district will be established as the authorized user and “gatekeeper” for their organization (MIS Code) upon confirmation from their college or district Vice President. Gatekeepers can then request access for additional researchers at their organization (MIS Code) by submitting an email request to ES Support Services with the information below.
Process for Gatekeepers to Request Additional Users
Authorized gatekeepers may submit an email request with the new user’s name and email address (.edu) to CCC Technology Center Enabling Services - Support Services at staffsupportccctc@openccc.zendesk.com.
Chancellors Office & Other External Stakeholders: All requests for access to the Data Warehouse Report Server from the Chancellors Office or other external stakeholders, must be directed to Mark Cohen, Product Manager, CCC Data, mcohen@ccctechcenter.org who will obtain approval from the appropriate CCCCO Vice Chancellor.
I'm no longer working as an IRPE for the California Community Colleges. Whom should I notify to remove my user access?
Please notify the research lead at your college or contact CCCTC Enabling Services directly at ES Support Services.
How do I report a bug or issue with the Data Warehouse Report Server?
Support is available to authorized Report Server users in our 24/7 online support community CCCTechnology.info - where college and district staff can share ideas, ask questions, and report bugs and issues for all the CCC Technology Center online applications. Our experienced support engineers monitor all incoming posts and comments, Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm PST. Depending on the nature of the issue or comment, support engineers will respond within 24 hours to critical issues regarding production applications.
Do I need to enter a password to access the Data Warehouse Report Server?
For Non-SSO Users (Chancellor’s Office and CVC-OEI authorized users): Yes. Please contact the ES Support Services team at the CCCTC to obtain a new temporary password for your user account from a CCCTC Administrator. Once the account has been re-verified, you can change the password using the “Forgot Password?” link on the Log In page. If you have trouble using the “Forgot Password?” feature, please contact ES Staff Support to request assistance at staffsupportccctc@openccc.zendesk.com.
For SSO Users: (Colleges & Districts): No. You are no longer required to enter a password when accessing the DWRS through your institution’s IDP (SSO). To reset your local password, please contact your college or district IT department.
Why am I being asked for a verification code?
For Non-SSO Users Only: A verification code is required as the second factor used in two-factor authentication for non-SSO users only (the password is something you know, and the verification code is something that you obtain). This additional step helps to secure data in the DW Report Server.
How do I generate a new verification code each time I login?
For Non-SSO Users Only: A new verification code is generated in the Authenticator app software you installed on your desktop or mobile device during the implementation process. After entering your email and password credentials and continue to the “One-time code” screen, open your Authenticator app and copy the six-digit verification code that is generated for the Data Warehouse Report Server. Enter the code in the “One-time code” field before the code expires (30 seconds).
Why is my verification code timing out?
For Non-SSO Users Only: The verification code is time-sensitive code designed to time out after 30 seconds. Each newly generated code appears with a timer, counting down to expiration. Give yourself enough time to copy the code and return to the sign in process before the code is no longer valid.
