Update on CCC Data 2.0 release

CCC Data 2.0 Pilot:

• Deployed to Pilot 02 Oct 2020

• Several colleges involved and able to complete Pilot testing

• Very successful pilot

  • results were good the feedback was excellent

  • Testing helped support implementation process

Pilot Activities:

• Testing did include colleges installing a custom vpn working in coordination with with our team

  • vpn is used to secure the data so that the data warehouse is only accessed when using a direct connection, over site to site vpn

• Pilot colleges connected either using Tableau or Power BI

• Pilot testing also included colleges running direct sequel direct queries using MySQL Workbench

• We were not able to test colleges connect tables from the data warehouse to a local data warehouse as external tables, pilot colleges IT did not have bandwidth to support

  • As we continue to roll out direct connection, we look forward to engaging colleges to test and document this process

CCC Data 2.0 Production:

• Deployed to Production 15 Jan 2021

• Adoption of DW direct connect

  • 15 colleges working with our Enabling Services group and are in various stages of going live on direct connection to the Data Warehouse

  • 96 colleges using the report server

Difference between DW Report Server and DW Direct Connect

  • Mark Cohen shared CCC Data Warehouse - Direct Access User Guide, CCC Data Sources & Data Dictionaries

  • Mark will continue to work with team and colleges to develop the direct access user guide to link up more into Data Dictionaries to provide compete roadmap

What do analytics indicate about CO MIS usage with regard to the data mart?

• Alex Jackl will work with Todd Hoig to get answer to this question, will share response w Mark and Advisory group.

• Per Alex, CO has been running some page web page analytics against people accessing data mart and so we might have some data from that.

• Alex will share responses with Mark so that he can share with Advisory group.
