This year's workshop will focus on helping you get the most out of your CCCApply implementation. The break-out sessions will feature best practices from technology experts, and training for new and experienced CCC Report Center users. We'll also take a look at the roadmap ahead - what's coming and what to expect from the Technology Center and the statewide initiatives they represent. explore the statewide technology initiatives in a special session on the Education Planning Initiative and a demo of the new Student Services Portal.

BOG Fee Waiver Application

Explore the online BOG Fee Waiver application and get an overview of the changes being implemented in the 2017-2018 what it takes to implement the application at your college.  This session is specifically geared towards setting up the automated download file and using email rules to notify students of their preliminary eligibility status. We’ll review the 2016-2017 approved changes (CCCCO) released in January, and how to read and understand the CCCApply BOG Data Dictionary.


Explore the BOG Fee Waiver application IT project and learn from early adopters Los Rios CCD on their experience standing up the new application.  We'll review the new 2015-2016 requirements and how to read and understand the BOG data dictionary and form specifications.  


Audience:  This session is primarily geared towards Financial Aid and IT staff, but appropriate for anyone interested in the online BOG Fee Waiver application.

New CCC Administrator 2.0 Demo

Join members from the CCCApply development team preview the new CCC Administrator, currently under-development.

Forecasted to launch in September 2017, the new CCC Administrator will replace the existing CCCApply Administrator and

This two-part session will focus on the advanced features of the CCC Administrator and the CCC Report Center and how to leverage the most out of these administrative tools.  In the Administrator we will walk through the process of configuring email rules and messages, including how to select certain subsets of applicants to receive specialized emails (for example, non-residents, potential AB540 students, or student athletes).  In the Report Center we will explore advanced features including using the relative date filter for scheduling recurring reports and creating custom reports using Ad Hoc Views.  We will also demonstrate the new "District User Account" for running reports on multiple college data.

Introduction to the International Application


Geared towards new users and those colleges that have not yet implemented OpenCCCApply.  This introductory session will demonstrate the OpenCCC Account Creation process (CCCID), account recovery, and the My Applications page. We will also review each of the three OpenApply applications including the CCCApply Standard Application, the new BOG Fee Waiver Application, and a preview of the new International Application.

Best Practices: Creating Accessible Documents & Web Pages

Web page and document accessibility is a central aspect to ensuring students with disabilities have access to institutional materials and academic content. Authoring and development techniques that include accessibility best practices for websites and documents reduce the need for remediation and provide students with greater access to institutional information. The CCC Accessibility Center offers a variety of tools and resources to support community colleges in evaluating websites and fixing PDF documents.


Audience: Geared towards all staff that work in education

CCCApply Residency Algorithm 101:
Presentation / Q&A Panel

Interact with members of the CCCApply Steering Committee for a presentation and Q&A session on how the CCCApply residency algorithm calculates the “preliminary” residency determination and AB540 eligibility statuses, and how the integrated Integrity Flags are used to alert staff to potential residency issues and priority registration eligibilities. Current Ed Code legislation and new MIS requirements changes will also be discussed. This popular session should appeal to all CCCApply Standard Application users, and particularly to new users and recent adopters of OpenCCCApply transitioning from a homegrown application.


Audience:  Geared towards all users of the CCCApply standard application but especially beneficial to new user adopters coming from a homegrown application to CCCApply.

Advanced Report Center Training:
Creating Ad Hoc Views

Join members of the CCCApply Steering Committee and Tech Center staff for a more in-depth look using the CCC Report Center for CCCApply. By special request - this session provides a forum for colleges and users who need more advanced training using filters, building cross-tabs, charts, and creating ad hoc reports. We’ll jump right into advanced topics for experienced users, including how to customize Public reports and view templates and how to leverage the power of Jasper reporting software. After the session, the computer lab will be open for attendees that want to explore some of the tips and tricks learned in the session. 



Audience: This session is geared towards experienced users of the CCC Report Center - but all levels of users are welcome!

MyPath: Student Services Portal Demo

demonstration of the free tools available to colleges, including the mobile-friendly Student Services Portal (SSP), Careers Exploration, and new Student Orientation tools, as well as a progress report of the 13 colleges currently piloting the Starfish Student Success Solution for education planning, degree audit, and early alert services. This presentation is geared towards Admissions & Records, IT, and Student Services directors and other stakeholders interested in the progress and/or adoption of the statewide Education Planning Initiative (EPI).

CCCApply 2017 Annual Update: Presentation / Q&A Panel

Join Patty Donohue, Product Manager, and members of the CCCApply Steering Committee, for a high-level review of the approved change requests, new enhancements, and key MIS reporting changes that will be released in the upcoming annual update on March 31st. Attendees will walk away with information and answers to questions such as, “How will these changes affect my job in Admissions? Do I have to update any of our admissions forms or current processes due to these changes? What new data fields are being added to the application and what does our IT staff need to do to update our student information system?” This session is always popular with staff who rely on the CCCApply application data for residency, financial aid, research, MIS reporting and other student support needs.


Discuss recent and upcoming changes to the OpenCCCApply applications, from bug fixes, to residency algorithm updates, and new features. This is your chance to understand the changes made during the March 27 Update and see what's in hopper for the next release.  This session is also an opportunity to provide feedback and submit ideas for changes as we move into the next fiscal year.



Audience: All CCCApply users, especially A&R, IT, and Research staff who rely on OpenCCCApply submitted application data for admissions, financial aid, MIS reporting and other business operations that rely on the data download file from incoming students.
