FAQ's and Tips for Successful Proposal Submissions

Frequently Asked Questions

COCI and MIS Reporting - do dates and status matter?

How do I record units for Corporative Work Experience courses?

What are the sub change fields for programs?

As of 4/30/2018 there are two programs fields that have the sub-change flag enabled: Program Award and TOP Code.

How can I check to see if COCI, MIS and my local system have the same data elements recorded?

There are a few different ways to do this. As of now, there isnt a file comparison tool or published template that would let you do this on a broad scale or with much automation. However, if you want to look at the data for specific control numbers of a small set of control numbers, you can do this without any extra tools or fancy formulas.

If you dont have a login to COCI you're only option is the public reports page. The good news here is that you can search on a bunch of different data elements and export filtered results right to excel. To access the public reports, go to the COCI homepage and click courses or programs on the upper right hand corner or simply bookmark these pages:

Some things to keep in mind before you even login

  • Chrome is the only supported browser for COCI, and the system operates best using this browser.
  • You can still log in using another browser, but we cant promise all of the features and functions will work or work the same. If you're using a different browser and run into edit or submission errors, please try to complete the process in Chrome before filing a help desk ticket.
  • If you're not sure if you know how to install home or have the permissions to do so, please look at this google support link:  https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95346?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en
  • Clear your cache. If you heard or saw us demo a fix or feature and you didnt see if when you last logged in, clearing your cache should help. Its a good idea to do this with the regular maintenance releases and definitely with the feature releases. How to: In chrome click the three dots to the right of the browser address bar, (alternately, select "Settings")> select "More Tools"> then "Clear Browsing Data". Check "Cached images and files" and "Cookies and other site data", then click "Clear Browsing Data" button. Close your browser window and reload.
