Steering Committee Change Requests

...

New optional downloadable data fields have been added to the Standard, BOG, and International applications. These new fields are the result of change requests that were submitted to the CCCApply Steering Committee and approved for development. Colleges can choose to include these fields in their download files by adding the field namesupdating the addition of these fields will not affect existing download files. For information on adding fields to your Download files, visit the new Online User Guides or follow the links to the technical release notes and instructions included below. The download client transfer jar file will also need to be updated.

...

The IP Address data field is captured through an updated web service that stores the fields in the Standard, BOG, or International applications submitted applications tables. This field is optional and will not be visible on the applications to the applicant. The Privacy Policy has been amended with approved language by the CCCCO to disclose that the CCCTC will be collecting the user's IP address upon submission of their application (after giving consent). The <ip_address> field is now available in the following db tables:

submitted_applications table: ip_address field
bogfw_application table: ip_address field
submitted_intl_application table: ip_address field

...

The Standard, BOG, and International applications have been enhanced to capture hidden tracking fields for colleges that want to track enrollment campaigns for research purposes. Up to three unique URL key/value pairs can be integrated into each application via: campaign1=x, campaign2=y, and campaign3=z (where x, y, and z are set to the name of your specific campaign). For example, when you provide an application URL link that includes the campaign value such as this one: https://www.opencccapply.net/cccapply-welcome?cccMisCode=231&user1=x&user2=y&user3=z, the "x" value is stored in the submitted_applications database and downloaded through your job and format XML files. The Application data dictionaries and the Download client have been updated to include the new <campaign1>, <campaign2>, and <campaign3> (hidden) fields. For information on adding the new campaign fields to your existing download file, please refer to the Downloads section of the new OpenCCCApply Online User Guide.

A new configurable redirect URL feature is under-development that, upon submission of a Standard or International application, opens a new browser tab to a specified URL. The redirect URL feature will allow colleges to:

  • Provide a seamless student application experience within the college context
  • Capture the student applicant's encrypted CCCID, which can then be decrypted for upload into the SIS

To support the redirect URL feature, the following onscreen display changes have been made:

  • During the application submission process, the Confirmation page now displays a "Continue" button instead of "Finish"
  • The Special Links and Opportunities page now displays a "Sign Out & Finish" text button instead of "Sign Out"
