CCCApply - Focused on Success: Mapping the Road Ahead
Featuring a range of topics and speakers covering the year in review and the roadmap ahead. Break-out sessions are offered in three tracks including topics for new and experienced Admissions & Records staff; IT Best Practices & Report Center Training; and a track dedicated to looking at the roadmap for 2017-2019 (and beyond, in some sessions) where we can explore new projects and statewide initiatives, including MyPath, the Student Services Portal, and Project Glue. Geared towards California Community Colleges.

11:10 AM - 12:10 PM | Designing the Next Version of the CCCApply International Application: Round-Table Discussion & Interactive Workshop SessionJoin the CCCApply product management team and members of the Steering Committee for an interactive workshop session designed to discuss processes and collaborate on gathering requirements for the next version of the CCCApply International Application. Well-run workshops are one of the most effective ways to deliver high-quality requirements quickly. They promote trust, mutual understanding, and strong communications among the project stakeholders and project team; while producing high-quality deliverables. Objective: Gather information from key stakeholders on the state and federal laws, requirements, and regulatory bodies, as well as the tools and technologies that should be considered when designing the questions for the admission of international students. Goals:

Audience: Geared towards key stakeholders and subject matter experts (SME) in the areas of Admissions & Records, International Admissions, Institutional Research, Student Equity, IT, and Student Services. Presenter: Patty Donohue, CCCApply Product Manager, CCCTC | Best Practices: Creating Accessible Documents & Web PagesWeb page and document accessibility is a central aspect to ensuring students with disabilities have access to institutional materials and academic content. Authoring and development techniques that include accessibility best practices for websites and documents reduce the need for remediation and provide students with greater access to institutional information. The CCC Accessibility Center offers a variety of tools and resources to support community colleges in evaluating websites and fixing PDF documents. 2:15 PM - 3:15 PM | CCCApply 2017 Annual Update and Roadmap Review: Presentation with Q&A PanelJoin CCCApply Product Manager, Patty Donohue, and members of the CCCApply Steering Committee, for an overview of the approved change requests, new feature enhancements, logic changes and data fields, recently deployed in the CCCApply 2017 Annual Update on March 31st. We'll also take a look at everything that's been implemented since the 2016 annual release, including technical updates (Shibboleth IdP V3 upgrade), security fixes, and user experience upgrades to address workflow and account recovery issues. Attendees will walk away with information and answers to questions such as, “How will these changes affect my job in Admissions? Do I have to update any of our admissions forms or current processes due to these changes? What new data fields are being added to the application and what does our IT staff need to do to update our student information system?” Audience: This session is always popular with staff who rely on the CCCApply data for residency, financial aid, research, MIS reporting and other student support needs.
