CCC Technology Center Shuts Down QA Environment and Releases New PILOT (Beta) Environment for OpenCCCApply

On Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at 9:00 AM PST, the CCC Technology Center will be shutting shut down and retiring retire the OpenCCCApply QA test environment and replacing replace it with a new , secure implementation beta site, testing environment called PILOT. The new PILOT site will be available for college use to colleges beginning Thursday, July 23 , 2015, at 9:00 AM PST.
The new This change only pertains to the QA testing environment. No changes will be made to the Production environment (student applications, downloads and staff tools). The PILOT site will launch fully functional and fully loaded. No changes will be made to , with all of your existing QA QA test data, artifacts, user accounts, Report Center reports, and other QA Administrator settings, in tact.
Colleges LIVE on OpenCCCApply who would like continued access to a beta environment for testing downloads and implementation of additional CCCApply applications (i.e., BOG and International) will need to update their existing QA URL addresses to point to the new PILOT environment.
The new PILOT environment will contain production-level code for the following OpenCCCApply applications:

Colleges that have already adopted OpenCCCApply will continue to , as well as those who are in-progress, will always have access to a testing beta environment (beta site) that mirrors the Production student applications and tools, code for testing and implementing additional OpenCCCApply applications (including the BOG and International applications).implementation.
The CCCApply support team will work with the colleges who are in-progress implementing OpenCCCApply now to ensure they've updated all QA URLs to the new PILOT URLs immediately to avoid delay to their projects. All artifacts, such as email rules, rule messages, supplemental question XML files, will be migrated to the new site for you. Staff and Administrator User accounts will not change and users will be able to log in to the staff tools on the PILOT site with their existing authenticated SSO credentials.
What WILL NOT Change?
The URLs you are currently using to access the QA Administrator and Report Center WILL NOT CHANGE when we stand up for the new PILOT environment. In addition, your current user accounts will not change and you Staff will continue to Sign In to the Administrator and Report Center with these using their existing QA User account credentials. All of your existing QA Administrator settings and artifacts, as well as any Ad Hoc or custom views and reports in the QA Report Center ad hoc views and reports, will be migrated over to the new PILOT environment for youautomatically. The entire process should be seamless for college users.
Remember, NO changes have been made to the student-facing (Production) CCCApply applications, staff tools, or download servers.

What WILL Change?
On Thursday, July 23 at 9:00 AM PST, colleges will need to update their test URL addresses to access the new PILOT OpenCCCApply applications and downloads URL attributes.
Remember: NO changes have been made to the student-facing (Production) CCCApply applications, staff tools, or downloads servers. The only change being made to your existing OpenCCCApply implementation is we've retired an outdated testing environment (QA) and replaced it with a new and improved test site (PILOT) to allow colleges a stable and secure test environment for ongoing testing and implementation of future applications. Please see , all former QA application and download URL addresses will change to the new PILOT URLs, as specified below.

How will this affect colleges implementing now?
Again, the move from the old QA to the new PILOT site for testing and implementation will be seamless for colleges. The CCCApply college support team will work with you to ensure the transition of URLs and IP addresses are handled immediately. Any artifacts such as your email rule messages, supplemental question XML files, and custom reports will be moved over to the new site for you. Staff and Administrator User accounts will not change and you will be able to log in to the staff tools on the PILOT site with the same username and password.
Colleges who are in the middle of implementing OpenCCCApply, the BOG Fee Waiver application, or plan to adopt the International application, should contact the CCCApply Implementation team to ensure your transition is smooth.

The OpenCCCApply Pilot environment is meant to be a carbon copy of the production environment to allow colleges to stage changes in their configurations and test implementations prior to a product rollout. While the Pilot environment is a clone of production, it is not actively monitored for errors and issues in the same way that the production environment is. Thus, there is no support team in place to respond to issues. For those colleges currently implementing OpenCCCApply, reporting issues to your project team may not be effective.
