An update on the recent CCC Data 2.1.0 release and Canvas data

CCC Data 2.1.0 will be released to pilot on May 21st, with the pilot commencing on Friday, May 21st or Monday, May 24th.

5 colleges or districts have signed up to pilot test their Canvas data. Each college will be testing it using the direct connection to confirm that the data appears to complete and no issues found.

If no defects are identified we will go production several weeks later, with access in early June. At this point we can begin setting up canvas data for all colleges.

The company that makes Canvas Instructure is preparing a Canvas Data product overhaul, Canvas 2, which is currently in beta with several colleges. Once released it will affect our data pipelines. It should result in a net positive as the data structure will make learning outcomes data more useful.

CCCTC Enabling services Services will engage with colleges to obtain API keys and address potential concerns.

As the pilot approaches we are better understanding Some colleges reported on what the approval process looks like at some colleges/districts, which has similarities to the approval process and roles with Canvas when initially rolled out at College Campuses with the Canvas admin not necessarily being faculty, and for some colleges that was a concern.to obtain permission for the college to release the API key.

Canvas data within the Data Warehouse will continue to be segmented by college in the CO view, unlike . Unlike other data sources in the Data Warehouse there is no cross system view.

Discussion Continued: Feedback on the tools, or additional infrastructure, the CCC Data would benefit from in support of research/analysis of available datasets

We are currently working on a new draft of the survey. Survey will go out during the Summer after following the 2.1.0 release after users have had to provide users with more time to use the Data Warehouse.

At this time there is no additional feedback.
