Problem / Issue

In the current desktop version of CCCApply applications, the onscreen language displayed on the "Submit Your Application" page/section is extremely long and when viewed on a mobile device, mainly a cell phone or smartphone, the amount of text is cumbersome for the applicant.  In other implementations of application design for mobile first, mobile optimization, and responsive mobile design, different layouts are used depending on the device used (or screen size) by the applicant.

When viewed on a mobile device, the Submit Your Application page onscreen text needs to be shortened and streamlined to minimize barriers for applicants (implement industry standards and best practices).

Proposed Solution

Revise the onscreen question text and the required legal information, where applicable, so that the User can quickly navigate the purpose of the section and ultimately answer the question and provide consent to submit their application.

Currently, the following language appears onscreen in the "Submit Your Application" page/section:

Submit Your Application

Replace the text block in the second paragraph, detailing the electronic signature information and ADD A NEW CHECKBOX that the student would complete to confirm they understand that they are submitting their information and residency information via Electronic Signature and the CAL legal disclosures associated with the submission.

Keep the other two existing checkboxes - with the label sentence including the user's <first + last names> merged, and require a response;

  • Move all bulleted text to the slider drawer as a "pop-up help text" style reveal and request applicants confirmation.

When the user clicks on the "By checking here..." checkbox, the slider opens, revealing ALL current legal text for the users review.

Keep the "Submit My Application" button, but enlarge the button per mobile best practice settings/styles
