For Students: How to Claim Ownership of Your Account
Claiming Ownership of an Account Created by a College
For students without internet access, your home college will create an OpenCCC account for you, with a temporary email and password for you to log in at a future date when you have internet access. With those temporary credentials, you can claim ownership through one of these two methods:

Edit your account profile information | On the Edit Account page, update the following fields:

Recovering a Forgotten Password
From the OpenCCC Sign In page, click Forgot your Password.
Enter your birthdate and last name.
In the email or mobile phone field, enter your preferred method of contact.
NOTE: if you reach this page from CCCApply, the field may say Username. Use your email address as your username.
A security code will be sent to your email account or your mobile phone. Retrieve the six-digit security code (sent from the California Community Colleges). If you do not see the email, check your Spam folder.
Return to the OpenCCC Validation Code page and enter the six-digit code. Click Next to continue.
The Update Password page will appear. Enter your new password the New Password and Confirm Password fields, then click Submit.
You will now be able to log in using your new password.
