From Mitch

@Rick Snodgrass (Unlicensed) Figure out where to post this

We found the best way to get rid of spammers is do not provide free software automatically. Make them either pay for fees first or get fully matriculated before you give away the free software (Office, gmail, etc.) Mitch at SRJC

@Jane Linder CCCTC Support team is working with colleges to implement best practices around spam, including restricting free software to students who enroll in classes.

From Pilar Traslavina to Everyone: (10:50 AM)Question - When will CCCApply update additional information fields for adult education program students? This ^^ will be part of the late Fall release, tagged as SB554. Jennifer

@Jennifer Coleman

Student Testing

Testing! Nancy Prior = Could some of the high school counselors help recruit prospective students as well? I worry that primarily recruiting current community college students will have some impact on the feedback as they will already be familiar with college processes and terms.

From brandon hildreth (COS) to Everyone: (11:01 AM)

We can definitely get students within the Central Valley area, especially rural areas

The high school kids struggle with the application significantly. I can also ask other districts if you would like

Have new field in adult dual enrollment so that adult non-credit students don’t have to pay fees @Jane Linder
From Michael Ward to Everyone: (11:22 AM) @Jane Linder

Our Noncredit Semester Terms have different start and end dates than our Credit Semester Terms so we use different terms for the two. It would be nice if students applying for Noncredit only see Noncredit Semester Terms and for our Credit those students only see Credit Semester Terms.
Less confusion for our students.

Incarcerated Students

From Nancy Pryor to Everyone: (11:09 AM)

I can provide recommendations for system-level representatives for the incarcerated student sub-committee. I can follow up via email with Rick.

Parent -Guardian question!

Internet Access as it regards Student Enrollment

From Craig Hayward to Everyone: (11:34 AM)

We know from student surveys that many students do not prefer online classes, moreover we have something like one out of five students telling us that their internet connectivity and their devices are just not up to allowing them to fully participate in online learning.

From Craig Hayward to Everyone: (11:36 AM)

That being said, I'm wondering where the displaced workers are. Were also expecting to see some university students redirect to CCCs (see CSACs survey)...doesn't seem to be showing up in the enrollment numbers, though

From Craig Hayward to Everyone: (11:38 AM)

Statewide survey is showing FTES down about 7% overall

Last Spring 2020 students were able to drop out and have that cleaned from their records.

Chromebooks are not up to many of the applications that students need for their course of study.
