Curriculum Submissions

Course Outline of Record | The Course Outline of Record is no longer uploaded by the user as a PDF. Fields supporting data entry have been added to the course summary to allow College Submitters to enter COR details in order to meet new C submission requirements. Users have the option to remove or archive previously uploaded Course Outline of Record PDFs in the course summary. Archived PDFs remain viewable for reference.

Course Summary | Several fields have been added to the course summary to allow users to manually enter Course Outline of Record details in order to meet new CCCCO submission requirements, including:
The * symbol indicates a required form field. Prerequisites/Co-Requisites College Submitters can create a list of pre-requisites and/or co-requisites for traditional courses that they are creating or editing. Users may click on + Add Prerequisites or + Add Co-Requisites. A Course Search window is displayed. User enters search criteria to find applicable pre-requisite or courses. User clicks Add in the Actions column to add their pre-requisite or co-requisite list in the course summary. Other Limitations on Enrollment College Submitters may provide Other Limitations on Enrollment for their course. Two text entry boxes are present, one under the Prerequisites field and another under the Co-Requisites field. Objectives/Outcomes College Submitters can add course objectives and expected outcomes for their traditional course submission in the course summary. The objectives and outcomes entered are listed separately on the course form so they can be seen clearly and easily. The user may type their response into the Objectives/Outcomes field. To add additional objectives / outcomes, the user may click + Add Another Objectives/Outcomes and another fillable text box will come up. Course Content, Required Topics College Submitters can add course content and required content for their traditional or common course submission allowing them to maintain consistent information across courses. The Course Content, Required Topics field is a text entry box. Methods of Evaluation A Methods of Evaluation text entry field has been added to meet new course submission requirements. Representative Texts, Manuals, and/or OER that is equivalent, Other Support Materials A Representative Texts, Manuals, and/or OER that is equivalent, Other Support Materials text entry field has been added to meet new course submission requirements. Examples of Reading and Writing An Examples of Reading and Writing text entry field has been added to meet new course submission requirements. The field allows users to add examples separately in order to create a readable list of examples on the course summary. The user may type their response into the Examples of Reading and Writing field. To add additional objectives/outcomes, the user can click + Add Another Reading and Writing Example and another fillable text box will come up. Examples of Outside of Class Assignments An Examples of Outside of Class Assignments text entry field has been added to meet new course submission requirements. The field allows users to add examples separately in order to create a readable list of examples on the course form. The user may type their response into the Examples of Outside of Class Assignments field. The user can click + Add Another Outside of Class Assignment Example to add additional examples. Examples of Instructional Methodology An Examples of Instructional Methodology text entry field has been added to meet new course submission requirements. The field allows users to add examples separately in order to create a readable list of examples on the course form. The user can type their response into the Examples of Instructional Methodology field. To add additional objectives/outcomes, the user may click + Add Another Examples of Instructional Methodology and another fillable text box will come up.

Course Attributes | A CIP Code dropdown field has been added to course attributes. The CIP Code field is positioned beneath the TOP Code field. This allows the College Submitter to utilize the crosswalk associations between the TOP Code and CIP Code. The CIP Code field is a required field for all course types. If your course does not yet have a CIP Code assigned, select 99.9999 for this field. If the CIP Code assigned is not available in the crosswalk please reach out to support or come to a drop-in session so it can be added. The CIP Code field does not currently have a CB Data Element number and there are not substantial change flags on this field. |
Program Attributes | When College Submitters are creating or editing a program in the program form, they have the option of selecting a BA or BS degree for the Program Award in the Attributes tab. The options are listed as:
These options are provided to allow College Submitters to match their curriculum in COCI to the curriculum selection made in their local CMS system. The titles for program goals have been simplified by removing the descriptive text for each goal. The updated titles are now:
