Issue Students are not reading the RDD. are rushing through selecting their hs ed level status. and are selecting the top response choice which is "Not a graduate". This is causing residency issues. They made some suggestions, but this is the only one that I didn't talk them out of making. Screen shot coming.
Change the order FROM this order:
0 = Not a graduate of, and no longer enrolled in high school
1 = Will be enrolled in high school (or lower grade) and college at the same time
2 = Currently enrolled in adult school
3 = Received high school diploma from U.S. school
4 = Passed a high school equivalency test and received a certificate of high school equivalency
5 = Received a Certificate of California High School Proficiency
6 = Received a diploma/certificate of graduation from a Foreign secondary school
Revise the list of High School Ed Level response options to list the HS graduate and equivalent statuses at the top (put "not a graduate of, and no longer enrolled in High School" at the bottom).
TO THE FOLLOWING ORDER:
3 = Received high school diploma from U.S. school
4 = Passed a high school equivalency test and received a certificate of high school equivalency
5 = Received a Certificate of California High School Proficiency
6 = Received a diploma/certificate of graduation from a Foreign secondary school
1 = Will be enrolled in high school (or lower grade) and college at the same time
2 = Currently enrolled in adult school
0 = Not a graduate of, and no longer enrolled in high school
This change would not affect the data download at all. The status response options would not change for this field (hs_edu_level), just the display of the responses that appear in the dropdown menu.
Also - college requested more visibility of the RDD in these questions. Say that students are rushing through, not reading, and selecting the first options in the listings.
