13:00:04 From Cathy Tully : can you post it again? 13:00:07 From Jaimie Jordan : It doesn't - could you post again please? Thanks! 13:00:26 From Lori Lisowski : We've just added a new feature to our wiki page--an online form for submitting questions to the group. Here's the link to the form: https://forms.gle/3GACeZJ31N3fsDUd9 And to our wiki page: https://cccnext.jira.com/wiki/spaces/CLSPP/pages/800030789/Circulation+Work+Group 13:01:59 From Jaimie Jordan : I was confused about that, too! Turns out, the picture not showing up when camera is off is because of the host's settings (some limit attendees' ability to display a pic as a way of preventing inappropriate images). 13:02:28 From Lori Lisowski : We've just added a new feature to our wiki page--an online form for submitting questions to the group. Here's the link to the form: https://forms.gle/3GACeZJ31N3fsDUd9 And to our wiki page: https://cccnext.jira.com/wiki/spaces/CLSPP/pages/800030789/Circulation+Work+Group 13:03:17 From AMANDA CRONKRIGHT : I think if you scan in item it doesn't do the in house count 13:03:31 From Tatiana Pak : I think so too 13:04:02 From AMANDA CRONKRIGHT : Yea, the returns module does the inhouse but the scan-in module doesn't 13:05:06 From AMANDA CRONKRIGHT : huh! I'll mention that to our automation dept 13:05:17 From AMANDA CRONKRIGHT : bc that'd be something to keep an eye 13:05:19 From AMANDA CRONKRIGHT : on 13:14:46 From Lisa Ann Brlas : Grossmont College stopped accruing overdue fines in Fall 2020. Our plan is to convert long overdue items to lost as soon as our Dean gives me permission. We are still trying to get patrons to return their items from spring and fall 2020. 13:17:13 From Lena Hicks : At PCC we're circulating library-owned textbooks, general collection items. We aren't placing holds for overdue general items at this time (from Spring 2020 onward), but we are placing holds on overdue textbooks (which began circulating in Fall 2020). We'll revisit all items when we reopen. Anything prior to Spring 2020 we're upholding those holds and working with students to either pay cash or helping them find more affordable options for replacements. 13:17:35 From Lena Hicks : PCC (Pasadena City College) 13:21:01 From Jaimie Jordan : Lisa- where & how do you track the 3 infractions? 13:21:59 From Cathy Tully : COS (College of the Sequoias) circulate textbooks and the general collection. We do not charge overdue or replacement fees for the general collection at this time. We charge replacement and processing fees for textbooks, laptops, hotspots, sewing machines, webcams, etc. We also place a hold on the student's record so they cannot register for classes, graduate, or get transcripts. We also turn off wi-fi service for overdue hotspots. This all happens after at least 3 notices and a month overdue. 13:22:21 From Cathy Tully : all replacement fees and holds are removed when the items are returned. 13:24:37 From Lena Hicks : PCC did away with overdue fines and processing fees in Jan. 2020 when we launched Alma. When we were open we still applied overdue fines for in-house laptops and in-house instructor reserve items because these items are more expensive. We figured this would be an incentive to return these more expensive items on time. 13:26:40 From Jeffrey Sabol : Long Beach City College did away with all overdue fines for all items except Course Reserve items in Jan. 2020 as well. 13:27:26 From AMANDA CRONKRIGHT : We aren't doing fines right now either since we don't have a way to accept payment. But items will go to bill if not returned or renewed. 13:28:08 From Jeffrey Sabol : Lost fees are still implemented here 13:28:12 From Lori Lisowski : Skyline too. We still charge replacement costs, however, if item isn't returned at all. We also put a hold on the student's account in Banner. 13:29:54 From Lori Lisowski : Before we closed, we could handle cash payments at the library. Students had to go to the cashier to pay otherwise. When we re-open, I don't know if we will continue to take cash. 13:31:25 From Parisa Samaie : At LACCD, we eliminated overdue and processing fee in Jan. 2020 as well. Right now, we do not have any curbside services, the due date for any checked out item from before pandemic, is extended to Feb. 2022. 13:31:56 From Lena Hicks : PCC as well, lost/replacement fees apply to all items 13:37:13 From Cathy Tully : All fine waiving goes through the circulation staff. Then we communicate with the Cashier's Office. 13:42:57 From Cathy Tully : Overdue fines = general fund, Replacement fees = library. 13:43:12 From Lena Hicks : All money collected goes to our college's general fund 13:43:30 From AMANDA CRONKRIGHT : All our fines and replacements go to the library's personal general fund 13:44:02 From Miranda Tofte : All of our fines and fees go to a library account. We use this account to replace lost items 13:45:00 From Tatiana Pak : We get our money back (overdue, lost) 13:46:52 From Tatiana Pak : They go to library fund. 13:47:56 From Kymber Ensele - LTCC : Lake Tahoe does this as well. We do not have any processing other than myself, so I'm going to have to do it regardless of where it comes from. 13:48:09 From Cathy Tully : Same at COS. 13:50:56 From Jaimie Jordan : Yes, we do payment plans, too. 13:53:21 From Lisa Ann Brlas : I think my Dean is preparing to give amnesty to all outstanding books due to the pandemic too. This will probably happen when we reopen. 13:56:40 From Jaimie Jordan : Thanks, as always, for this forum! Great to be able to exchange ideas :) 13:56:50 From Lynda Letona : Second the thanks! :) 13:57:16 From Leslie Palmer : Thanks so much! It is always enlightening and helpful here. 13:58:13 From Lena Hicks : Thanks everyone 13:58:39 From Lisa Ann Brlas : Nice to see everyone again! 13:58:42 From Kymber Ensele - LTCC : Thank you!
